“ There is no other place that cooks up the Claypot Loh Si Fun( silver needle noodle) and Fish head noodles like Goon Wah. The Claypot and fire simmering away and the sizzling sound just makes you can't wait to devour this dishes. They do also have other dishes and their gingko barley Fu Chuk dessert is not too sweets Nd diluted. It's just the right consistency and they are not stingy with the gingko and barley. This is the original location and they have since opened up other branches. Be warn. You must be ready to look and fight for parking space in this area, though. ”
“ We went with our friend who grew up in this neighborhood. Without him, I would not know what to order. We had the Fish Head noodles, the pork intestines (real intestines, not stomach), fried rice, and veg. All excellent, reasonable priced. Order small plates so you can try more variety. Other reviewers give other good plates to order, if you don't have a local friend to guide. Parking is difficult and public transport complicated, so uber or grabcar might be the best bet. By 12:30, tables are filling up for the lunch crowd. ”
“ I have been eating in this restaurant many times. I have not been to this restaurant recently. It is open only on weekdays and is closed on weekends. This makes me think of how good the business is to sustain themselves. Due to the opening hours, it is hard for me to visit this restaurant unless when there is a public holiday which falls on weekdays. They are famous for their XO fish head noodles which contains but what I love more is the Marmite Chicken Wing and Pork Intestine. Depending on the time you arrive, the restaurant can be really packed with customer or they may be tables available when you arrive. I find that the crew always do their best to serve their customers in terms of speed of service and quality of food. There are two parts to the restaurant, one with air-conditioning and one without. I will recommend to take the tables in the area with air-conditioning as it will be more comfortable to eat. For dessert, you should try their Ais Kacang. Best to be taken after food. ”
“ Goon Wah Restaurant is known as one of the famous restaurant in the town, which serves Fish Head Noodles. It is always being one of the top list for its fish head noodles (don't believe me? Google!). In my opinion, Goon Wah serves the best Fish Head Noodles in town. 5 stars from me to Goon Wah as below: 1st star: The fish head noodles is served in clay pot, to maintain its hot temperature. 2nd star: Free flow of soup refill. You do not have to ask for it, they will come and refill for you. 3rd star: Except fish head noodles, they serve other delicious food as well, such as chicken wings, pork intestines (I LOVE THIS!), and tong sui as well. I LOVE THEIR ginkgo nuts barley. But i have yet to try out the chicken wings, saw a lot of tables ordered that, maybe should try it next time. 4th star: Reasonable price. My last order: 2-3 persons serving of fish head noodles, pork intestines, and 3 bowls of tong sui, cost about RM45. 5th star: Quick service, although it is always crowded. Highly recommended. Thinking of it, I feel hungry already. yummy! ”
“ Solid five stars from me because the food here is really that great. Located near the Shell station when you turn onto Kuchai Lama after Old Klang Road, this restaurant is quite famous and sees eager diners from around KL/PJ every day. Needless to say, lunch time is super peak hour so come early to avoid the crowd. The XO fish head noodles here is really something else. The broth is complex and flavourful, complemented by generous helpings of fried fish head, yam, pickled vege, and tomatoes. Soup is refillable for free - amazing. The sizzling lou shu fun is also top notch, with generous bits of dried shrimp, deep fried pork lard and spring onion. Other dishes to try include their double marinated chicken wings and yam stewed pork with mantou. Fantastic food in a rather old-school shoplot restaurant, this is as good as it gets when it comes to fish head noodles. ”
